What changed

The campaign replaced Straight Talk. Stronger Port Hope. with A Town to Build a Life In. as its main public slogan and made the new line the homepage’s primary headline.

Reason

The previous slogan communicated Jordan’s direct style but did not clearly express the purpose of the campaign. The new slogan gives residents a concrete, memorable and intergenerational picture of Port Hope as a community where people can establish themselves, raise a family, build opportunity and remain connected through every stage of life.

Previous and new presentation

Previous presentation

The homepage used Port Hope can move forward without losing itself. as its main headline and displayed Straight Talk. Stronger Port Hope. as a secondary slogan. The footer, page metadata, generated social-sharing image and July 9 nomination update also treated Straight Talk. Stronger Port Hope. as the active campaign slogan.

New presentation

The homepage uses A Town to Build a Life In. as the primary headline, supported by copy connecting the promise to protecting Port Hope’s character, fixing the basics and building housing, infrastructure and opportunity for every generation. The footer, metadata and social-sharing image use the same active slogan. The July 9 nomination update remains a historical record and clearly identifies the former slogan as the launch-era wording replaced on August 4, 2026.

Practical effect

Residents encounter one consistent and concrete campaign purpose across the homepage, footer, search results and social previews, while the original launch wording remains visible as part of the public record rather than being silently rewritten.

What did not change

No policy position, platform priority, promise, cost, timeline, campaign rule, visual identity or governing commitment changed. Proof Before Power remains the campaign’s transparency promise. Listen. Test. Decide. Report back. remains Jordan’s governing method. The three-part plan to fix the basics, protect Port Hope and prepare for what comes next remains in place.
